Zoom sessions

TeleVerify is a Zoom Marketplace–approved app that adds a compliance side-panel to every meeting. The check runs inline at the start of the call, surfaces the result to the host, and signs a record per session — without leaving Zoom.

Overview

In-session decision point. TeleVerify verifies patient location during the live Zoom call. After the verification result arrives in the TeleVerify panel, you decide — within seconds — whether to Continue Session or Discontinue Session. The session timeline (start time, location verified time, decision time, end time) is captured in the signed Compliance Verification Record.

The Zoom integration adds the TeleVerify compliance panel as a side-by-side app inside the Zoom meeting window. When you start a meeting, the panel surfaces a one-click Copy Link button. You paste that link into the Zoom chat (or text it to the patient) once the patient is on the call. The panel then watches for the patient's verification, runs the four compliance checks (license, compact, OIG, modality) the moment they submit, and shows you the resolved status — all without leaving Zoom.

The integration is approved on the public Zoom Marketplace, so any Zoom user can install it. Enterprise admins can also pre-approve the app for their organization so individual providers don't need to authorize it separately.

Setup (one time)

Step 1 — Install from the Marketplace. Search for TeleVerify in the Zoom App Marketplace and click Add. Or, from your TeleVerify dashboard, go to Settings → Integrations → Connect Zoom and follow the OAuth link.
Step 2 — Authorize permissions. Zoom will ask you to approve two scopes:

Click Allow to be redirected back to TeleVerify.
Step 3 — Confirm provider details. If you signed up via Zoom rather than the regular signup flow, enter your NPI and confirm your licensed-state list. TeleVerify validates the NPI against NPPES.
Step 4 — Confirm compact enrollments. From Dashboard → Profile → Compacts, mark every interstate compact you're actively enrolled in (IMLC, PSYPACT, NLC, ASWB, Counseling, PT, OT, Audiology/SLP, APRN, PA, Dietitians). Same step as any other medium.
If your organization administrator has already approved TeleVerify for your Zoom account, your NPI and licensed states will be pre-filled.

Starting a session

  1. Start your Zoom meeting normally.
  2. Click Apps in the Zoom toolbar and select TeleVerify. The compliance panel opens to the right of the video window with a Copy Link button.
  3. Once the patient is on the call, click Copy Link and paste it into the Zoom chat. The patient must tap the link to verify — there is no manual code-entry fallback. TeleVerify does not auto-send the link; the provider always shares it manually.
  4. The patient taps the link in chat, confirms their location, and the compliance check runs. The result appears in your panel within ~2 seconds.
  5. You proceed with the visit (Continue Session) or end it (Discontinue Session) based on the result. The signed record is captured at session end.

Patient experience

  1. They click the Zoom invite and join the meeting.
  2. The provider pastes a one-tap location-confirm link into the Zoom chat (or texts it to the patient).
  3. The patient taps the link, confirms location (GPS or address-confirm), and returns to the meeting.
  4. The session continues with no further interruption.
The compliance flow does not require the patient to install anything or create an account. The link works in any browser, including the in-app browser on iOS/Android.

Common issues

The Apps panel doesn't show TeleVerify.

Confirm your Zoom desktop client is version 5.10 or higher (older clients hide the in-meeting Apps surface). If you're on the right version and still don't see TeleVerify, your Zoom admin may have blocked third-party apps — they can allowlist TeleVerify in the Zoom Marketplace admin.

I clicked Allow but Zoom shows "Authorization failed."

This usually means a browser pop-up blocker intercepted the OAuth redirect. Try again with pop-ups enabled for zoom.us and televerify.org. If it still fails, sign out of Zoom in your browser, sign back in, and re-attempt the install.

The compliance panel opens but says "Waiting for patient."

This is expected until the patient confirms their location. If you've already pasted the link into chat and the patient hasn't acted on it, re-paste it (chat messages can scroll out of view) or send the same link by SMS or email.

I'm a Zoom admin — how do I approve TeleVerify org-wide?

Open your Zoom Marketplace admin panel, find TeleVerify in the pending-approvals list, review the requested scopes, and approve. Individual users in your org won't need to re-authorize.

How do I remove the Zoom integration?

From marketplace.zoom.us/user/installed, find TeleVerify and click Remove. TeleVerify retains the signed records you already generated; the only thing removed is your future ability to run compliance checks from inside Zoom. You can re-install at any time.
